Curator’s Choice Award:The Black Pastoral

"Natural Beauty by Dayna Balough captured the theme for me perfectly.  The intense gaze of the figure is visually arresting, and the painterly marks generate a vibrancy of the individual.”

— Francis Thompson (Curator)

Initially hesitant to participate as a non POC, I connected deeply with the exhibition's mission. I submitted a digital drawing for "The Black Pastoral" section and was honored with the Curator's Choice Award.

This recognition allowed me to present my work to a panel of judges, fellow artists, and the public. Sharing my art and supporting the Black Lives Matter Foundation, which received a significant portion of the proceeds, was a profound honor.
